The area of the constituency comprises part of the following Traditional Authorities: Kalembo, Kachenga and Toleza.
The Constituency has a projected eligible voter population of 46,471
The boundary commences at the district boundary between Balaka and Mangochi on Mpale River Bridge, it follows M3 Road Southerly to the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kalembo and Amidu. Then it follows Westerly, South Easterly and South Westerly still on the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Amidu and Kalembo, then North Westerly to the meeting point of Traditional Authorities Amidu, Kalembo and Kachenga. It then follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kachenga and Amidu to the meeting point of Traditional Authorities Amidu, Sawali and Kachenga. Then it follows the boundary between Traditional Authorities Sawali and Kachenga Westerly, North Westerly, Westerly and Northerly to S133 Road at the meeting point between Traditional Authorities Sawali, Kachenga and Toleza. It continues on S133 Road South Westerly, also being the boundary between Traditional Authorities Sawali and Toleza to the meeting point of Traditional Authorities Sawali, Matola and Toleza on the same S133 Road. It then follows the boundary between Traditional Authorities Toleza and Matola. It then follows Liwawazi River Northerly on boundary of Matola and Toleza, this still being the boundary between Traditional Authorities Matola and Toleza. It continues to the district boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu, then follows Mute River Northerly along the said district boundary meeting point of Balaka, Ntcheu and Mangochi districts. It follows Balaka and Mangochi district boundary Easterly to Mpale River then North Easterly following Mpale River to the point of commencement.

Commencing at the meeting points between Traditional Authorities Sawali, Amidu and Kachenga at Nkhonde River, it follows the boundary between Traditional Authorities Sawali and Amidu South Westerly, South Easterly then Southerly and Westerly to the point where Traditional Authorities Amidu, Msamala and Sawali meet. Then it follows the boundary between Traditional Authorities Sawali and Nsamala Westerly to Balaka town boundary and goes southerly then westerly then northerly and easterly around Balaka Town boundary to the meeting point between Traditional Authorities Msamala, Matola and Balaka Town, it then follows Northerly the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Matola and North Westerly to the district boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu. It then follows the said boundary North Easterly and South Easterly into Liwawadzi River and follows Liwawadzi River which is also the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kachenga and Matola, then Toleza and Matola still following Liwawadzi River Southerly then continue with Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Matola and Toleza Easterly to the point where Traditional Authorities Matola, Toleza and Sawali meet. It then follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Toleza and Sawali North Easterly to the meeting point of Traditional Authorities Toleza, Sawali and Kachenga then follows Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kachenga and Sawali South easterly to Nkhonde River and follows the said river South Easterly to the commencement point.

The boundary for the constituency commences at the meeting point of Balaka, Mangochi Machinga on Shire River, it then follows Shire River, being district boundary with Machinga Southerly and South Westerly to the boundary between Traditional Authority Amidu and Liwonde Town. It follows Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Amidu North Westerly to the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala, Amidu and Sawali meet. It then follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Amidu and Sawali Easterly, Northerly and North Westerly along the said Traditional Authority boundary and North Easterly to the meeting point between Traditional Authorities Sawali, Amidu and Kachenga, it follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kachenga and |Amidu Northerly to the meeting point between Traditional Authorities Kachenga, Amidu and Kalembo. It the follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Kalembo and Amidu South Easterly, North Easterly, North Westerly along the said Traditional Authority boundary. It turns Easterly to join M3 Road and follows it Northerly to Mpale River Bridge. It then follows the district boundary with Mangochi North Easterly then South Easterly and Easterly to the point of commencement.

The boundary for the constituency commences at point where Traditional Authorities Sawali and Nsamala meet Balaka town boundary, it then follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Sawali South Easterly, North Easterly, South Easterly, North Easterly , South Easterly then North Easterly to the meeting point of Traditional Authorities Amidu, Msamala and Sawali. Then it continues with Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Amidu South Easterly to the point where Traditional Authorities Amidu and Msamala meet Liwonde town boundary. Then it continues along the boundary between Traditional Authority Amidu and Liwonde Town to Shire River. Then it Follows Shire River South Westerly to the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala and Nkaya intersects with the district boundary between Balaka and Machinga, then it follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Nkaya to the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala, Nkaya and Chanthunya meet. Then it continues with the boundary between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Chanthunya North Westerly, North Easterly and Westerly between the boundary of Traditional Authorities Chanthunya and Msamala to the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala and Chanthunya intersects with the district boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu. It follows the said district boundary. Northerly, North Westerly then North Easterly the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala and Matola meet on the district boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu. Then it follows the Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Matola and Msamala South Easterly to the point where Traditional Authorities Msamala, Matola meet Balaka town boundary, and it goes Traditional Authority Matola and Balaka boundary then westerly along Traditional Authority Msamala and town boundary to point at coordinate 7086765E 8343963N near Bakita Technical College thence south easterly along the same border then northerly to the commencement point.

The Constituency boundary commences at point where Traditional Authority boundary between Traditional Authorities Chanthunya and |Msamala intersects with the district boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu districts. It follows the said Traditional Authority boundary Easterly then South Westerly and South Easterly between Traditional Authorities Msamala and Chanthunya to the meeting point between Traditional Authorities Chanthunya, Nkaya and Msamala. Then it follows the boundary between Traditional Authorities Nkaya and Msamala Northerly, North Easterly, North, Easterly, Southerly, South Easterly, South Westerly, South and South Easterly to the point where Traditional Authorities Nkaya and Msamala intersect with the district boundary between Balaka and Machinga South Westerly
It then follows the said boundary South and Crosses into the district boundary between Balaka and Zomba still South Westerly, then crosses to the district boundary between Balaka and Neno Westerly and crosses again to the boundary between Balaka and Ntcheu North Easterly to the point of commencement.
